It seems every day I am reminded of the parallels between growing a business using social media and managing an eBay business. One of these parallels has been the value of great images. Great images have contributed to entire social media sites, like Pinterest, and have greatly changed the way Facebook and Twitter display their content. In recent research, eBay buyers ranked photos one of the top 3 factors in deciding where to buy. And starting July 2, 2012 up to 12 pictures, per listing submitted, will be free for all sellers (excluding eBay Motors vehicle listings).

These are some of the reasons why I am so happy to share a resource with sellers; the eBay Top Tips for Great Photos Guide.

In 2011, eBay shoppers purchased more than $5 billion in merchandise on mobile devices. One way to optimize your listings for mobile is by using eBay pictures. While item photos embedded in the item description area may not render properly across every mobile device platform, eBay picture hosting ensures that your items will be visible on a variety of mobile platforms. And, of course, great photos are much more likely to be shared through social media by your current and future customers!
